WHY Should I Become a Sponsor?

By becoming a ChildAid sponsor, you will be meeting the physical and spiritual needs of a child, helping them to achieve their God-given potential. Sponsored children are supported by our ministry partners, who provide them with educational assistance, practical support and above all else, the opportunity to hear about a new life in Jesus.

WHAT do I get as a sponsor?

By signing up, you will receive an information pack with details of your sponsored child, including a photograph. Each year, they will aim to send you two letters, and you will be kept up to date with the ministry that is supporting them. You are welcome to write letters to your child at any time, which will be translated into their language.

HOW can I become a sponsor?

By committing to a monthly donation of £25, you will be ensuring that your sponsored child is given the holistic support they deserve. FAQs

Where does the money go?

The cost per child is £25 per month, payable through direct debit, cheque or credit card. Sponsorship money is sent to the ministry partner supporting your child and is used for the benefit of all the children in the scheme. This ensures the money is not misused.

How long is my commitment?

You are free to end your sponsorship at any time by letting us know, and in those cases, we endeavour to ensure the child is sponsored from the general fund until a new sponsor is found for them.

What contact can I have with my sponsored child?

We aim to provide at least two letters per year from your child, one of which will be a Christmas greeting. You can write to your child at anytime (not including personal details), but please note that all outgoing and incoming correspondence is monitored by our staff as a security precaution. Your letters will be translated before being given to your child.

Can I send gifts my sponsored child?

Due to cost and postage difficulties, we are unable to send physical gifts to sponsored children. We have a gift fund which provides all of the children, whether sponsored or awaiting sponsorship, with a gift for their birthday and Christmas every year, which we invite you to donate to. Just head to the Sponsor’s Area.

Can groups sponsor a child?

Yes. We have Sunday schools, youth groups, school and church groups sponsoring children. If you need multiple copies of your sponsored child's information, please let us know.

What happens when my sponsored child leaves the programme?

Children are sponsored until they complete their secondary school education, unless they leave for other reasons, and most of them go on to paid employment or further studies. Where possible, we will provide you with information on where your sponsored child will be going once they have left. We can then offer you the opportunity to sponsor another child.
