Stories of Hope in Myanmar
Transforming young lives
At Word of Hope Orphanage in Myanmar, each child has a testimony - of hardship, resilience and hope. Many of the children have lost their parents, or have come from poverty, where safety and education were out of reach. Through the care and loving support of the orphange, along with the incredible generosity of their ChildAid sponsors, their lives are being transformed.
Below are the stories of two of the girls at the WOH orphanage:
Angle, age 5

This is Angle. Her mother passed away and her father is unable to take care of her, so she now lives in the orphanage. Angle enjoys reading in her spare time, and she would like to be a doctor when she grows up. In a recent letter, Angle expressed her excitement about being in school.
Pyae, age 16

This is Pyae. Both of her parents passed away, so she was brought to the orphanage at 11 years old. Her favourite hobby is singing, and she would like to be a headmistress. In a recent letter from Pyae, she spoke about having attended a church camp which she greatly enjoyed, and said "we are very happy".
