Transforming Health and Well-being: Wilder’s Nutritional Journey
Wilder lives with his parents in Momostenango, Guatemala and joined Potter's House when he was 9 years old.
When he first joined the programme, he often felt overwhelmed and low on energy. However, as time went on and he began receiving nutritious lunches five days a week at one of the Potter’s House Community Centres, he learned the importance of maintaining a balanced diet.
He noticed improvements in his health and daily well-being too. Thanks to the activities and workshops, Wilder has changed his eating habits, incorporating more fruits, vegetables and water into his diet, and reducing his consumption of processed and sugary foods. His family has also noticed a positive change, as Wilder has become a role model for his little sister and other children in his community.
In addition, his academic performance and energy for sports activities have improved significantly. Wilder says the programme has not only taught him the importance of healthy eating but has also given him the tools to live a healthier and more mindful lifestyle.
As a result, Wilder has experienced a very positive change in his health and overall well-being. His mother expresses her gratitude to Potter’s House, saying that in addition to Wilder receiving food and vitamin supplements, she has also learned the importance of good nutrition for healthy growth.
This support has not only benefited Wilder physically, but has also strengthened his spirit and renewed his hope for the future.
