An Urgent Prayer Request for Myanmar
Please join us in praying for Myanmar where our ministry partner, Word of Hope, is based.
While the church, orphanage and Bible school at Word of Hope weren’t directly impacted by the recent earthquake, much of central Myanmar is facing devastation.
The epicentre of the earthquake, which hit on Friday 28th March, was in Sagaing, close to Mandalay and north of the capital, Naypyidaw.
More than 1,700 people have been killed and thousands more injured as a result of this natural disaster. Beyond damage to buildings and infrastructure, there are also concerns that there could be potential dam bursts.
Word of Hope is based in Yangon, in the south of the country. Ministry leader, Pastor Pau, has confirmed that they are all okay, by the grace of God.

We thank God that Word of Hope hasn't been affected directly, but they are sending young people to the disaster zone to help. Pastor Pau knows of churches there that have been impacted and believers that have lost their lives.
Our Alliance partner, CNEC in Singapore, also reports that projects they support in Mandalay have been severely affected. Please pray for all those suffering loss as a result of this tragedy as well as protection for all seeking to bring hope and help, and for the food, water, shelter and clothes that are so desperately needed.
"God is our refuge & strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea." Psalm 45 v 1-2
