One example of a project needing support is the High Priest Academy in Accra, Ghana, run by our ministry partner Living Word of Faith Evangelistic Ministries. This school provides education for 130 impoverished students from the local community, 70% of whom receive scholarships from the church. However, due to the global economic crisis, the church has been struggling to pay the teachers. Watch as CEO Andrew chats to LWOF ministry leader Pastor Samuel about WorldShare's impact.

WorldShare has recently begun helping Wakisa Ministries in Uganda to equip its maternity centre. Wakisa Ministries was established to provide practical support, Christian counselling and vocational skills to young girls rejected by their families due to unwanted pregnancies. Alongside their well-established pregnancy crisis centre, Wakisa have recently built a new maternity centre. Their vision is this facility will be a unique setting that will not only meet the obstetric and gynaecological needs of young pregnant girls, but will also offer tender loving care, free of judgement, to anxious mothers in labour.
