Myanmar Earthquake Appeal

“The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)
1st April - Twelve team members (pictured below) travelled from Yangon to Mandalay. They had to risk navigating through war zones, but God protected them. They slept on the hard ground overnight.
2nd April - The team surveyed the damage of their project buildings to find most are completely unsafe to inhabit. Aftershocks of the earthquake continued & the scorching heat made work extremely difficult.
3rd April - The relief work began. Due to extreme heat, the first priority of the teams was delivering clean drinking water (pictured below) to the many victims in both Mandalay and Sagaing, the epicentre. This will continue in the coming weeks, alongside further aid.

James Lai, CEO of CNEC, said “Your prayers are not just words - they are lifelines”.
Please pray:
- That CNEC’s teams will find local supplies, ensuring help reaches those in greatest need.
- It is still very difficult for overseas relief agencies to enter the country. Pray that God will make a way through the government restrictions so that relief may increase.
- That the strength of the CNEC teams will not fail in the face of unbearable heat, exhaustion and exposure to disease.
- That the injured and the grieving would know the comfort and healing of the Father.
