Urgent Gaza Appeal
The Crisis Deepens
As Gaza nears two full years of war, the humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate. The UN warns that famine thresholds have now been breached, with over 500,000 people facing catastrophic hunger and another million in emergency conditions. Families are starving. Children are dying. And the systems needed for survival such as food, water and healthcare have collapsed.
At WorldShare, we believe God is calling us to act. As Jesus taught in the Parable of the Good Samaritan, we are to love our neighbour as ourselves. Today, our neighbours in Gaza are crying out for help.

A New Appeal - Building on Your Generosity
This is a new appeal, launched in response to the worsening crisis. It builds on the incredible support we received through our original Relief for Gaza Appeal in June 2024, which enabled our ministry partner, Christian Mission to Gaza (CMG), to:
- Distribute over 47,000 hot meals
- Provide clean drinking water, clothing, and basic necessities
- Support and disciple believers under pressure
Thanks to your generosity, CMG has been a lifeline for many, including the 670 Christians still living in Gaza today.
Christian Mission to Gaza (CMG), established in 1999, continues to serve those most in need, often at great personal risk. CMG is one of the few Christian organisations working in Gaza, a region which faces extreme population density and poverty.
In August, they distributed over 1,000 meals to people in tented camps (as seen in the pictures on this page), along with thousands more elsewhere. These meals, often just rice and vegetables, cost around $5 each, and are a lifeline for displaced families.
“Even the search for food has become deadly,” writes Pastor Hanna Massad. “One young believer went with his cousin to a food site. Only one returned. His cousin was shot and killed.”
CMG also continues to disciple young believers, support wounded families, and provide emergency aid across faith and ethnic lines.
Daily Life
Displaced families spend entire days searching for food, water, firewood, and basic supplies. Aid is scarce and dangerous to collect. One young man told CMG he gives his only shoes to a friend who risks his life to bring back flour.
81% of households report poor food consumption; 24% face extreme hunger
Over 9,200 children were diagnosed with acute malnutrition in July
Food aid is often intercepted or looted before reaching those in need
90% of Gazans lack access to clean drinking water
Most survive on under 3 litres of water a day for all uses
Public sanitation has collapsed; UNICEF calls it a “child survival crisis”
