In The Office
Alan joined WorldShare in 2016. He trained as a Civil Engineer and worked both in the UK and overseas; 12 years of this was in Nepal on hydropower development working both with a mission agency and as a tent-maker. Mission has been a big part of Alan’s life and he is passionate about seeing lives change as people respond to the Christian Gospel. Alan is married to Julia and has three daughters. They are based in Sheffield and are part of an active and vibrant local Anglican church.
Jenny is a qualified accountant, who first joined WorldShare on a voluntary basis working alongside the Finance Manager, moving on to work in an accountancy practice specialising in auditing and producing accounts for charity and not for profit organisations. She returned to WorldShare to take on the role as Finance Manager in 2013. She is married to Richard, who also periodically volunteers for WorldShare, and has four children.
Administration & ChildAid Officer
Clare studied secretarial and business studies at college, before joining WorldShare at the age of 18. During her 26 years as part of the Worldshare team, Clare has been involved in most parts of WorldShare, currently working administering the ChildAid programme, and in general finance. She is married with two children, and invests a lot of time in family life. Clare served for 6 years as her local church secretary, and is now still involved in the crèche.
Marketing Communications Specialist
Nick previously worked for the NHS within clinical exercise and rehabilitation services for patients with major, high-risk health problems. Since then he has worked within the digital specialisms of photography, writing and film and has been freelancing for a number of years for a wide range of clients across multiple sectors. Nick blogs prolifically at “Firebrand Notes” and, along with his wife Mairi, aims to bring as much digital influence within the Church and within culture as he can.
Chair of Trustees
Geoff has been a member of the WorldShare Board since 1998 and is currently Chair. Geoff comes from a background in financial services and financial management. He is a retired Finance Resources Officer for the Diocese of Carlisle, which included a role in charity governance training and compliance. Geoff has been a lay minister (Reader) in the Anglican Church since 1995 and is a member of the General Synod of the Church of England.
Kevin has been on the WorldShare board since 2005. Kevin grew up in East Africa and has worked over the years with a number of missionary organisations including Tearfund and World Relief. Kevin now works as an independent consultant and researcher specialising in disaster management. This has led to involvement in many of the major disasters around the world. Kevin lives in Reading with his wife Denise and worships at Greyfriars Church.
Richard has been a WorldShare Board member since 2012. Richard spent 16 years in the Royal Air Force as a Navigator, flying Chinook helicopters which took him to Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Kosova, Falkland Islands and Afghanistan. Following this, Richard trained Officers deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan. Richard is now based in Cheltenham and runs his own Leadership Development Consultancy, Performance Solutions Consulting Ltd.
Sarah has been a member of the board since December 2014. Sarah is a Chartered Accountant, Tax Advisor and Corporate Tax manager and is currently working as a Financial Accountant in Preston. Sarah is married to John, they have two children and live on a working farm in Lancashire.
John joined the WorldShare board in June 2017. John has been involved in Education for 35 years and was Vice Principal in a large South Yorkshire Academy for 10 years. Currently, John is involved in setting up schools links overseas in South Africa, Romania and Zambia. He is also the Director of ‘Up Mountains’, working with two drug and alcohol rehab centres in Loughborough. John is married with four children and is a worship leader at his local church.
Anthony joined the WorldShare board in September 2017 after a career in Health Service Management for around 40 years. He has visited Romania many times over the last 25 years to develop and support partnerships with churches. Anthony has been actively involved in church life and gospel-centred ministry since his early teens. He is married to Cecilia and they have two children and seven grandchildren.
