We wanted to let you know about a specific need that has arisen within our ministry partner, FEAL, following the explosions in Beirut last week. We have only just received information from them about how they are responding to those in need.

On 4th August, two explosions occurred in the port city of Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, causing at least 200 deaths and more than 7,000 injuries. The news also reported that over 300,000 Lebanese affected by the blast became homeless overnight. Lebanon was already struggling with an unprecedented economic crisis before the disaster, with families pushed into poverty and hunger.

Our ministry partner, Free Evangelical Association of Lebanon (FEAL), has been delivering humanitarian relief to Syrian refugees settled in the city of Beirut and the Bekaa Valley since 2015 through their Oasis programme. In response to the blast, Dany Saab and a team of Oasis volunteers have already been helping clean up debris and repair damaged homes. They have also been praying with those who have been hurt by this tragedy. As they continue the relief effort, they desperately want to be able to reach out by distributing relief packages to the blast victims.
